Answered: How can I prepare for my theory test?

Study, study, study and er, study. Do practice mock tests with a DVD or CD ROM but do study for it. Even if you pass without studying, you have no theoretical knowledge of the road rules and how to apply them. So you'll have to study afterward. If something crops up on your practical test and you can't deal with due to a gap in knowledge or you deal with it incorrectly, you'll certainly fail. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.

Answered: has anyone seen the channel 5 dangerous driving school

The driving test is there to assess if you're safe to drive on your own. Imagine the roads if we didn't have one. Yes, once you have passed you can drive how you like BUT it must be within the law, safe and responsible. If not you will be punished. Dangerous Driving School shows you not only "dangerous" drivers with the wrong attitude but also those whose skills aren't quite up to standard. Atleast they're doing something about it, most don't bother.

Answered: What car is best to learn in?

There isn't one really. Most instructors choose small to medium size cars as they are cheeper to run, easier to gauge space in and cheaper to insure. However, some have poor rear visibility for reversing, awkward driving position and poor mechanics, some are overpowered or over complicated. Whatever they're like you'll get used to it. But, an overpowered car will be harder to control, keep the engine size & bhp low.

Answered: How many points can a learner get?

Lots, the same a qualified driver. I've heard of a learner with 18 points on his licence. There is the New Driver Act which states if you pass your test and get 6 or more points within the first two years you'll have reapply for your proviosional, do your theory and practical tests again. If you have more than 6 points already when you pass, you only need to get 1 point on your licence and the New Driver Act kicks in, you're back to a learner. Moral: don't get points at all.

Answered: Focus or Corsa?

In my opinion driving is all about you being comfortable behind the wheel. If you were comfortable in the focus then that's great, there is no real rule of thumb that slightly bigger cars like the focus are any more difficult to drive than the corsa.

Why don't you go for a test drive in a Corsa, get a feel for how it drives then you can make a better decision?

examiners trained at same place so rules the same, some areas may seem easier due to volumes of traffic. type of traffic, road layouts etc. but standard of driving should be the same.

Answered: Do I need to display L plates?

Yes you do, when a learner driver is controlling the car, driving it, then L plates must be displayed. When a qualified driver is driving they should be removed or covered. Instructors are exempt.

For G2 Test You would be asked to do some right and left turns, 3 point turn, parallel park or Reverse park in the parking lot, some lane changes and up hill or down hill park.

And for Full G road test, you would be asked to Merge on a highway, a few lane changes on a highway. Emergency Stop, parallel or Reverse park and a 3 point turn. Hope this answers ur question. Thank You and Good Luck. From, Learn Safe Driving Academy
